Silêncio... Blue Brazil Gallery presents a silent art auction to benefit the Piedmont Wildlife Center and Lar Irmã Maria Luiza. The veterinarians at the Piedmont Wildlife Center in North Carolina rescue hurt wild animals, treat them and release them back into their habitats. Lar Irmã Maria Luiza is managed by Sister Cicera in Brazil and houses elderly individuals whose families cannot afford to care for them. The two houses that Sister Cicera manages operate entirely on donations. Both organizations are close to our hearts. 100% of the profits will be donated to these worthy causes.

The event takes place on December 10, 2005 from 7-10pm at Serentec, 319 Martin Street in downtown Raleigh (corner of Martin and Harrington).

Pinga Bear is importing Gandaia, a premium cachaça from Minas Gerais. Samples of this Brazilian national spirit will be available at the auction. There will be a full cash bar that will also include Caipirinhas.

Pat Murray, DJ at NC Central University’s radio station, will be spinning Brazilian tunes she has collected since she was a kid. Pat probably has the most extensive collection of Brazilian music in the area and is ready to share it with us.
